1986, France, directed by Claude ChabrolI watched this as part of the run-up to Flickhead's Claude Chabrol blogathon: more will follow in June. This is the second of the Lavardin films that Chabrol made with actor Jean Poiret, after 1985's Poulet au vinaigre. This sequel of sorts is more squarely centered around the Lavardin character, who didn't appear until almost halfway through the original film.
